Beetle Girl (2017)

£30.00

The sculpture that started my obsession with beetles!

When a Beetle Girl is born, it’s very vulnerable and way too curious for its own good.
Evolution has found a way to help with this behaviour: their colours match the plant on which the cocoon was placed, to act as a form of camouflage that protects it from harm when it’s born (let’s just hope they don’t stray too far…).

These are made from polyurethane resin. They’re made from 3 different moulds: the horns, head and body are all separate, then put back together using strong glue and epoxy paste. Hand painted with care.
